Linshu wickerwork is a famous traditional handicraft with a history of more than 1,400 years. Thanks to the deep sand soil, abundant moisture and light in the Shuhe River, Cangyuan River and Mutuan River basins in the county, the wicker produced here is slender, flexible and white. With the change of times, wicker knitting equipment gradually from life to production. In the early days of the founding of New China, Linshu vigorously supported willow weaving industry. In 1973, the wickerwork products of Linshu County were included in the first batch of national wickerwork export plan, and the hand-made baskets that every household took for granted became the treasure of foreign exchange earning.
Taking advantage of the east wind of reform and opening up, Linshu people continued to carry forward the Yimeng spirit and ventured boldly. The first batch of willow weaving enterprises came into being. At the beginning of this century, the number of employees of Linshu willow weaving reached 100,000. However, the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008 caused a sharp decline in orders in the European and American markets, which caught the local government and enterprises unprepared.
Stay together for warmth and promote the development of industrial clusters. In 2010, the Linshu Liushu Handicraft Chamber of Commerce was established, and Qiu Bingsheng was the first president. Authorized by the local government, Qiu Bingsheng applied for registration of “Linshu Liushu” geographical indication certification trademark.
